It is high season for all ski enthusiasts, who want to head to the mountains to enjoy some long-awaited days of skiing. As of 12 February, the Norwegian government has lifted the corona restrictions. This means that everything is in place for SkiStar Trysil and Hemsedal most popular part of the season.

Removed and eased restrictions in Sweden and Norway: this applies at SkiStar
Thanks to the easing of restrictions against Covid-19, SkiStar can finally remove several of precautions, although some will be retained. For example, travelling for all foreign guests visiting our Norwegian destinations will be considerably easier, with no requirement for border testing at entry.

SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället – an international resort in Sälen
SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället will now welcome its first guests and visitors looking for an international alpine experience. A family resort close to the slopes that offers every conceivable amenity, opportunity and world-class dining experiences – all under the same roof and with skiing and experiences of nature right outside the door. The SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället opens on 12 December 2021.

The cold bites in the Scandinavian mountains during the week, which is particularly favourable for the snow production and to get high quality conditions for good alpine skiing. The strong trend in Scandinavia of active mountain holidays all year round with family and friends is here to stay. To strengthen its position as the leading holiday tour operator for Scandinavia, SkiStar has decided to sell its shares as majority owner of the ski resort St. Johann in Tirol in Austria. The buyer is the Austrian family company Schultz Gruppe, which operates several ski resorts.

Pontus Frithiof Selects SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället as a New Concept in the Mountains
Pontus Frithiof and Nordrest will be setting up in northern Sweden for the first time, as the two restaurants open at SkiStar's new resort, SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället, in Sälen. The two restaurants will have different concepts and specialities, but they will offer something for everyone with a focus on sustainability – good and well-prepared food based on locally produced ingredients.

SkiStar is ready for a Coronavirus-adapted winter season: All destinations will be open before Christmas
SkiStar Hemsedal was first to announce that the resort will be opening for skiing on 11 December, together with SkiStar Trysil, and it's now also clear that SkiStar Åre, Sälen and Vemdalen will be opening during the week commencing 14 December (calendar week 51)*.
