Press release -

SkiStar’s grand opening for the season: All Norwegian and Swedish destinations are open from December 3

The cold bites in the Scandinavian mountains during the week, which is particularly favourable for the snow production and to get high quality conditions for good alpine skiing. Winter is finally here and on December 3 SkiStar’s destinations in both Lindvallen, Sälen, Åre, as well as Trysil and Hemsedal in Norway will open for this year's winter season. SkiStar Vemdalen already sneak peeked off last weekend.

- Finally, we can open and the conditions look great at all our destinations in Sweden and Norway. I look forward to welcoming all our guests for a long winter season, offering them safe, secure and memorable mountain experiences with fantastic skiing for everyone, says Stefan Sjöstrand, CEO and Group Manager at SkiStar.

During the winter season premiere, SkiStar Sälen and SkiStar Hemsedal will be holding the traditional Ski Test weekend, from December 3-5, which finally return after one year of cancellations due to the coronavirus restrictions. During the Ski Test weekend, anyone interested in skiing can test the very latest from a wide range of suppliers of skies and apparel for alpine skiing while also enjoying the wonderful pre-season.

- It's time for the Ski Test Weekend! Opening the ski-area is always a fantastic feeling, and the Ski Test Weekend is a sign that the winter season really gets under way. The conditions ahead are very favourable and we plan to open more slopes and lifts gradually. Welcome to Scandinavia's best family resort, where we'll also be opening our new, state-of-the-art SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället on December 12, says Jonas Bauer, Destination Manager at SkiStar Sälen.

Dates for SkiStar's Ski Test Weekends:

November 27-28: Ski Test Weekend Vemdalen
