We end a year in which we have delivered posi­tive results, in the middle of an ongoing pande­mic, with an extremely strong momentum in business development, acquisitions and divest­ments. All Swedish and Norwegian destinations remained open throughout the winter season with more new guests visiting us. However, the absence of foreign guests has had an adverse effect on our earnings.

With Sweden and Norway's widest and largest alpine skiing offer for all levels, SkiStar is reaffirming its role as the leading holiday tour operator for Scandinavia this winter. As of 19 December 2021, Dutch company BBI Travel is relaunching its flights from Groningen Eelde Airport to Scandinavian Mountains Airport. The Dutch can return to SkiStar's Scandinavian ski resorts on Thursday and Sunday every week, giving them a more efficient and faster journey.

SkiStar invests heavily in hotels: Takes over the operation of six hotels and lodges in Scandinavian mountain resorts

As part of SkiStar's work to consolidate its position as the leading holiday tour operator for Scandinavia, the company is now taking a new approach to hotel development in the Scandinavian mountains. SkiStar will operate six lodges and hotels at the company's destinations. The investment is made possible by increasing the pace of real estate development as the company has today agreed with Peab.

SkiStar is closing off the historic winter season with 150 days of skiing: Safety and security continued focus for summer

On 2 May, the last two of SkiStar’s destinations, Åre in Sweden and Hemsedal in Norway, closed for the winter season, a season which was historic in many ways as the company succeeded in staying open all winter, offering a total of 150 days of skiing. The focus has been on the safety of all guests, employees and residents of the ski resorts, along with good snow conditions and good service.

The strong trend in Scandinavia of active mountain holidays all year round with family and friends is here to stay. To strengthen its position as the leading holiday tour operator for Scandinavia, SkiStar has decided to sell its shares as majority owner of the ski resort St. Johann in Tirol in Austria. The buyer is the Austrian family company Schultz Gruppe, which operates several ski resorts.

Pontus Frithiof Selects SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället as a New Concept in the Mountains

Pontus Frithiof and Nordrest will be setting up in northern Sweden for the first time, as the two restaurants open at SkiStar's new resort, SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället, in Sälen. The two restaurants will have different concepts and specialities, but they will offer something for everyone with a focus on sustainability – good and well-prepared food based on locally produced ingredients.
