Brand new state-of-the-art accommodation in Hemsedal now open for bookings for next winter

In December, 100 new state-of-the-art apartments in a perfect location close to the ski slope in Hemsedal will be ready to receive their first guests. In addition to high-class apartments, SkiStar Lodge Hemsedal Suites also offers family apartments with a design featuring SkiStar's popular children's character, Valle the snowman, a large climbing wall for older children, as well as a restaurant and bar. Hemsedal Suites is connected by a footbridge to the extremely popular Alpin Lodge, which means easy access to other services in the ski resort. The new apartments can now be pre-booked for winter 2017/2018 at skistar.com.

- SkiStar Lodge Hemsedal Suites allows us to offer the perfect accommodation for today's guests, including the highest standards of comfort and skiing which is literally 'on the doorstep'. We are particularly excited to be able to launch apartments that are tailored to the family, with a unique experience involving our popular children's character, Valle the snowman. The family apartments in the Valle style are themed and will provide children with a unique experience during their skiing holiday, says Kenneth Larsen, SkiStar Hemsedal.

Building work began in 2015 and the total investment amounts to around 300 million (NOK). The building has an area of around 14,000 square metres and there are around 600 beds in total, divided among 100 apartments with up to 8 beds per apartment.

About the Valle Suites family apartments:

These well-appointed apartments are located on the ground floor, close to the children's area, with views of the ski slopes and children's area. The apartments are themed in a Valle Ski Workshop style and the cost of accommodation includes a gift from Valle and bathrobes to take home for children up to the age of 10. The apartments are well equipped with a range of practical facilities for families with small children such as cots, high chairs, children's cutlery, footstools, potties and, of course, Valle bedding for the children.

Childcare service are also available next to the ski slope in Hemsedal. They are staffed by qualified childminders and accept children from the age of 6 months. Children can draw, watch films, play or sleep in a pram outdoors under the watchful eye of a childminder.

Throughout the winter it's been possible to fly direct from London Gatwick to Åre/Östersund Airport with easyJet, and then reach Åre and Vemdalen by direct transfer. This increased accessibility for Londoners via easyJet's direct line, combined with the fact that more Britons are travelling to the resorts via a Stockholm to Åre/Östersund flights, have led to an upturn in ski tourism from the UK.
