Press release -

SkiStar's international growth continues – new 5-year agreement with easyJet in place

Low-cost airline easyJet strengthens its presence in Scandinavia and launches two new direct routes from the UK to Scandinavian Mountains Airport – the gateway to Sweden's largest ski area SkiStar Sälen and Norway's largest ski resort SkiStar Trysil. From Saturday, December 6, 2025, British travelers will be able to fly directly from both London Gatwick (LGW) and Manchester (MAN) every Saturday during the winter season. The initiative is the result of a new five-year cooperation agreement, which underscores a long-term commitment to the region.

The new routes will operate throughout the winter season and offer British ski and winter enthusiasts significantly easier and faster access to the well-known and popular destinations Sälen in Sweden and Trysil in Norway. Both ski resorts are within convenient transfer distance from the airport. The launch significantly strengthens accessibility to the region for one of its most important international markets.

- We are very pleased with the cooperation with easyJet, which will give more Brits the opportunity to experience our fantastic ski resorts and the unique atmosphere at our destinations in Sälen and Trysil. The flight routes enable our continued growth of international tourists, says Stefan Sjöstrand, CEO of SkiStar. It is also very positive that easyJet has set climate goals in line with Science Based Targets, concludes Stefan.

- Welcoming easyJet with two new routes from the UK is fantastic news for both the airport and the entire region. It underscores the region's and the airport's attractiveness and is the result of good cooperation, says Gunnar Lenman, CEO of Scandinavian Mountains Airport.
